1. Who we are

Houston Water Damage Guide (waterdamageguidehouston.com) is a free referral directory. It helps homeowners, property managers and landlords in the Houston area of Texas find independent local water damage restoration companies and send a request to one of them.

Houston Water Damage Guide is run by Rank First Labs Ltd, a company registered in Cyprus (company number HE 494678), Athinas 25, Agios Athanasios, 4105 Limassol, Cyprus. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Rank First Labs Ltd acting for Houston Water Damage Guide.

We are not a restoration company. We do not inspect, quote, repair or install anything. The company you choose does the work.

2. What we collect

When you send a request:

• Your name, phone number, email address, and the address or ZIP code where the work is needed.
• What you tell us about the job.
• The company your request goes to, the page you sent it from, and the date and time.
• Whether you ticked either of the two optional text message boxes, with the date, time and the exact wording you saw.

When you send a request, the form also sends: the first page you opened on this site in that visit, the website that sent you (if any), and any ad campaign tags in that link. This is kept only in your browser tab until it closes, and it helps us see which sources bring requests.

When you visit the site: basic technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view. Analytics cookies are used only if you allow them (see section 7).

When you email us: your message and your contact details.

About listed companies: business name, address, phone, website, service area, license number where the Texas registry confirms one, and other facts taken from the company's own website or public records. We show the source for each fact.

3. Who receives your request

Your request goes to one company: the company named on the form when you press Send. You see its name before you send.

• We send that company your name, contact details, job details and the record of any text message consent you gave.
• From then on, that company uses your details under its own privacy policy. It is responsible for how it contacts you, what it quotes and the work it does.
• We do not send your request to other companies, sell it to a list, or auction it.
• If you send another request on this site, that request goes only to the company named on that form.

If a listing is ever marked "Sponsored", that company is a client of Rank First Labs. A sponsored company receives your request only if it is the company named on your form. Today no listing on this site is sponsored.

4. How we use your details

• To pass your request to the company you chose.
• To check that the request reached the company, and to follow up with you by email or phone if something went wrong.
• To keep a record of each request and its outcome, so we can remove companies that treat homeowners badly.
• To answer your emails, and listing, correction or removal requests.
• To keep the site working and secure, and, if you allow analytics cookies, to understand which pages are useful.
• To meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your request details for advertising.

5. Text messages

The request form has two optional boxes, both unticked. If you tick one, you agree that the company named on the form may text you, from its own number and under its own text message registration:

• the first box covers texts about your request (for example, scheduling);
• the second box covers marketing texts from that company.

You can send a request without ticking either box. Message and data rates may apply. To stop texts from a company, reply STOP to that company's messages. Mobile numbers and text message consent records are not sold or shared with anyone for their marketing. We pass the consent record only to the company named on your form.

6. Service providers

We use a small number of providers to run the site. They handle your details only to provide their service to us, under contracts that limit their use.

We may also share information with professional advisers, or with authorities when the law requires it.

Some providers are outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union. Where the law requires it, we use contracts that protect information moving between countries.

7. Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It sets analytics cookies only if you accept them in the cookie banner. If you reject them, or send a Global Privacy Control signal, no analytics cookie is set. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

Only cookies the site needs to work (for example, to keep the request form secure) are set without asking. The site also keeps two small notes in your browser tab (session storage, deleted when the tab closes): the area you are looking at, and the first page of your visit, which is sent only with a request you choose to send.

• This site does not use advertising or tracking pixels.

8. How long we keep it

• Requests and their records: up to 24 months after the request, or less if you ask us to delete them.
• Emails with us: up to 24 months after the last message.
• Listing, correction and removal requests from companies: as long as the company is listed, and 24 months after removal so we do not list it again by mistake.
• Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis.

We cannot delete the copy held by the company your request went to. To ask that company to delete your details, contact it directly. If you ask us, we will pass your request on to it.

9. Your rights

You can ask us to show you, correct, delete or send you a copy of your details, and you can object to our use of them or withdraw a consent you gave. Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws have these rights under their state laws, and we honor them for everyone. Passing your request to the company you choose is something you ask us to do; we do not treat it as a sale of personal information.

Email info@waterdamageguidehouston.com. We reply within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your email address or phone number so we know the request is yours. If you are not happy with our answer, reply to say so and we will review it again. You may also complain to your state's attorney general or to the Cyprus Commissioner for Personal Data Protection.

10. Deleting your data

Email info@waterdamageguidehouston.com with the subject "Delete my data" and the email or phone number you used. We delete your details within 30 days and confirm by email.

11. Security

We use encrypted connections, limited staff access and encrypted backups. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your details, we will tell you when the law requires it.

12. Children

This site is for adults arranging work on a home or property. We do not knowingly collect details from anyone under 16.

13. Listed companies

If your company is listed and you want a fact corrected or the listing removed, email info@waterdamageguidehouston.com with the business name and website. We update or remove listings within 5 business days.

14. Changes and contact

We post any change on this page with a new date.
